Q&A with Abbie Lench: Tennis Volunteer Group

Simon Salter writes …"I am very pleased to announce that we have Abbie Lench ( Head of Clubs; Parks ;Counties and Volunteering at the LTA ) joining to engage with our group and answer questions.

Each session will have up to 25 participants to give everyone a chance to contribute.

I will pose questions to Abbie on behalf of the group and members will be able to ask follow up questions.

 1) What does “opening tennis up” mean and what impact will it have on traditional tennis clubs and venues?

2) What support can clubs and venues expect from the LTA?

3) What was the reasoning behind closing the LTA telephone hotline?

4) What role do volunteers play in British Tennis from the LTA’s perspective?

5) What is the link between the LTA at national level , the counties ,clubs and venues? How do you see it working into the future? Who does what, and who is responsible for what?

6) Will the LTA consider targeting club resources towards sustainability and renewables in the light of COP26 and escalating energy costs?
