Men’s Over 35s County Cup team miss out narrowly on promotion

Team stay in Division 2 after mixed results at Eastbourne

Competing in the LTA Over 35s County Cup 2026 – Men’s Division 2A, Middlesex were drawn alongside Leicestershire, North Wales and Surrey last weekend.

Middlesex opened their campaign against North Wales, narrowly missing out on the overall tie with a 1–4 defeat.

The team responded impressively on the second day, producing a dominant 5–0 victory over Leicestershire to put themselves in contention for promotion.

The final tie against Surrey was decisive. Middlesex needed a 4–1 victory to secure promotion, but Surrey proved too strong and Middlesex were unable to achieve the required result.

Great effort by the team, well done to all!
