Courtside at the US Open with Harriet Dart

Harriet Dart

Middlesex Tennis Trustee Mark Keothavong has been following Harriet Dart during the US Open

Middlesex’s very own Harriet Dart has enjoyed an amazing run at the US Open so far. Winning three rounds in the Qualifying event, beating compatriot Heather Watson in the final round and followed up on the success with a win over former top 30 and local favourite Peyton Stearns.

Across the last few days I’ve had the privilege in following Harriet and watching her first round match courtside. Coming into the event, Harriet has had a good set of wins which has given her great momentum going into the final grand slam of the year, and it really showed in her first round as she wasn’t phased by the scoreline and kept striking the ball with authority.

Former Champion helps Harriet

Harriet has also benefited from former Grand Slam champion Marion Bartoli in her corner who has been extremely insightful and supportive in Dart’s tennis and bringing out the very best in her. It’s been great to see Harriet finding her form again and just seeing that smile and enjoyment which is the most important factor when competing.

We wish our Middlesex star the very best for the rest of tournament including in the doubles where she will be partner in-form Maia Lumsden.
