On a wet and blustery evening, Middlesex Tennis Trustees, Members and staff gathered at The Queen’s Club for the Annual General Meeting.
Last week we held the first AGM since our incorporation as a Charity in May 2024.
It was an evening of celebration as well as formalities and Chairman Phil Veasey and Company Secretary Hilary Watts presided over the event.
General Manager Andrew Lewandowski acted as MC and guest presenter and having not had an AGM for 18 months there was much to discuss: an overwhelming amount of content on what has been happening in Middlesex Tennis. A real testament to the great work going on around the county which includes inclusive hotspots, player performance, the enormous amount of work undertaken by our network of volunteers and coaches, and the financial support of key partners. The breadth of initiatives launched at Club and Venue level is truly impressive.

- Chair’s Report from Phil Veasey
- Finance Lead’s Report on the financial position of Middlesex Tennis (May 2024 – March2025) from Fatemeh Beyad

As Phil Veasey, Chair, said afterwards:
“Thanks to all the venues, and our brilliant range of speakers for attending the AGM on Monday. We always make our AGM much more than just the formal, legal bits that we need to do! We love to add a celebration of some of the great programmes and initiatives our clubs and partners are undertaking. And … it’s great to update everyone on what the County is up to as well!
A big thank you to our guest speakers:
Kate talking passionately about our partnership and the Hotspots programme
Gary with some amazing best practice initiatives that the attending clubs just loved
Frances talking us through the past very successful 3 years
Stuart showing a brilliant video around the sheer joy of playing for Middlesex
And a quick mention for Lily Mills – unexpectedly thanking the county – in public – for the grant we have awarded from the Performance Foundation to get her to Australia – which brought the house down!
