0004 A message from Andrew Lewandowski, Performance Manager 29th April 2020

April 29, 2020

Dear Middlesex Team - Players and Parents

We hope you are safe and somehow coping through these extraordinarily difficult and challenging times.

It has been great seeing through the Middlesex Social Media channels all your fantastic passion, ingenuity and commitment in keeping some training going in gardens, open spaces and even bedrooms and lounges.

Sport throws up many challenges, disappointments and difficulties and we learn how to cope with these through a positive mind sets, simple goal setting and sticking to consistent daily routines which make us stronger as we overcome these difficulties. Doing something each day, no matter how small “counts” towards the bigger picture and will help once we are back on the courts.

As a support to players Steve Green has been providing the county with programmes and routines which can be carried out safely in and around home environments. These resources are excellent and available via our website:

Returning to play after a long layoff should be managed carefully to avoid injury. If you have been following a fitness programme over the lockdown period, then you can expect to get back to a full hitting routine quickly. If not, then we strongly suggest you contact your coach for a programme or download the little book of exercise weeks 1 onwards in the performance resources section of the Middlesex website.

We very much hopethat tennis can open up as soon and we can return to our winning ways, in the meantime, please feel free to keep in touch with the County via our Social Media channels
