Today we had 7 Teams compete in the Middlesex National League event hosted by Islington Tennis Centre.

In the Starting to Compete event, our four teams played against each other with each player competing in 6 singles and 3 doubles. The players battled well with some very close scores with the highest score 15-13 and all looked forward to the doubles matches. Brondesbury Red team came out on top with 3 wins from 3.

The "advanced" competition was aimed at those players who currently compete regularly at individual competitions and provide experience of competing as a team and playing doubles. We had three teams competing with Dukes Meadows, Hackney and Coolhurst battling it out. Dukes took gold with a convincing win and with Hackney and Coolhurst splitting the singles 4-4, Hackney took silver with 3-1 scoreline in the doubles.

Thank you for all the players, parents and coaches who made today's event possible. As well as our scorers who did an excellent job managing the matches.

The purpose of this central venue styled team event is to increase the number of teams competing at 8U, Increase the number of matches played, ensure there are confident scorers for every match and ensure the matches are a good experience for players competing.
