Young Person Welfare Ambassador Role

February 14, 2023

Do you want to Learn New Skills & Make a difference in Tennis?

At the LTA, there's nothing more important than Safeguarding, which means making sure everyone is safe and happy in our sport. As a Young Person's Welfare Ambassador, you can help us do this!

This is a 12-month pilot programme managed by the LTA. After the initial 12 months we'll gather your feedback and you will have the option to continue in the role within your venue and build upon the experience and skills you have gained from participating on the programme.

The Young Person's Welfare Ambassador role provides a unique opportunity for you to meet other likeminded young people and make a difference at your club and across tennis in Britain. You will work with your club Welfare Officer and the LTA to promote key safeguarding messages, with a licence to get creative.

The role will help you:

  • Increase our personal development and awareness of safeguarding
  • Provide an opportunity to have a more active role in your club
  • Provide valuable experience and skills which may translate into future careers in fields such as social work, police, education
  • Develop lots of new skills (we will give you support with this!)
  • Meet other young people from across Britain who also want to make a difference
  • Gain confidence in a range of new skills such as public speaking and presenting
  • Enhance your CVs and applications for college, university or employment
  • Promote tennis within your local community
